CCMC/SALOON Rating
Saloon Ratings are trained in Food Production, Food & Beverage Services, and Housekeeping services. They can be employed in either the Main Fleet of the Merchant Navy or Cruise Shipping. Saloon Ratings work on the ship involves carrying out all operations in hospitality management.

Eligibility
10th Standard Pass from a recognized Board with a minimum of 40% aggregate and 40% marks in the English language.
Or
Pass in 2-Year I.T.I. course from Govt. Approved Institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks in final year and minimum 40% marks in English at 10th or Diploma Exam.
Age
17½ – 25 Years and 27 Years for candidates holding a Degree or Diploma. (The candidate aspiring to join this course should be within the above age limit on the date of course commencement.)
Medical requirements
Medical and Eye-sight requirements shall be as per the existing standards of DG Shipping. 6/6 unaided Vision with no colour blindness. No speech impairment (disorder).
Every trainee will have to undergo and produce a Medical Fitness certificate issued by DG Shipping approved Doctor. The List of approved Doctors and medical centers can be downloaded from www.dgshipping.gov.in.
